Message From The Principal
Good Afternoon Stoller Families,
As you may have read, several of the schools in BSD needed to return to temporary remote learning this week, but thanks in part to our families being so cautious and keeping sick students home, Stoller has been able to remain open. We have seen a huge improvement in proper mask wearing which is helping to keep our students healthy. We appreciate everything you are doing at home to reinforce the importance of this safety measure.
Thank you to everyone who has been following our updated attendance reporting procedures. The new procedures have allowed the records to get updated more efficiently. As a reminder, please only use the Attendance Line for reporting full day absences. Beginning Monday January 24, we will no longer be accepting late arrival or early dismissal notices via the Attendance Line. While late arrivals are handled by sending a note with your student, we can only release a student early once you sign them out at the Main Office.
We are starting to see an increase in the number of lunches being dropped off at the office. We understand that occasionally it may be necessary to drop off a lunch, but please refrain from making this a regular practice. We are not accepting food delivered to students by third party services such as Grubhub or Doordash. If you student forgets their lunch, they may get one from the cafeteria free of charge.
The lost and found is getting full again. If your student is missing a lunchbox, water bottle, umbrella, or an article of clothing, please have them check the lost and found. We will be donating all the items on Friday, February 4.
This week's newsletter also has important information related to Virtual Parent/Teacher Conferences, Immunization Exclusion Day and the PTO sponsored 8th Grade Celebration. Please take a few minutes to read through it all and let us know if you have any questions.
I hope you all have a great weekend.

Attendance Procedure Update
Beginning in 2022 we are asking that parents not utilize the attendance line or email to let us know if your student is arriving late or leaving early. Late arrivals and early dismissals need to be taken care of when the y happen since they are not something we can add to the attendance system in advance.
If you student is arriving late, you can either send them to the door with a signed note excusing the missed time or you can walk them to the door and sign them in. Either way, any missed time will be updated and marked excused.
If your student needs to leave early, please come to the Main Office and sign them out. After we check your ID we will call your student down to the office and release them to you. Please allow us 10-15 minutes to get your student and try to avoid picking up after 3:30 if possible. We are not able to have students waiting in the office, so please do not text them asking that they be ready for you when you arrive.

8th Grade Celebration News
Hi 8th Grade Families!
Well it’s another year full of challenges. Someday our Class of 2026 kiddos will have a “normal” year, right?
Your 8th grade committee has been working hard on year-end activities. Typically this includes a send-off and a celebration as well as a class t-shirt. We aim to make this full of special memories for the kids as they leave middle school and get ready for high school.
Our tentative plan for our year-end celebration is a closed party at Kingpin’s during the last week of school. A closed party means the outside public is not allowed in during the party. We find this works best for both safety and health reasons. The party includes full food and games and school-sponsored transportation to and from the event.
We will also be doing a send-off where your kiddo will receive their t-shirt with their high school on it or just a generic class of 2026 if they prefer. Details for this are TBD.
We realize things are in flux and we are prepared to pivot at any time but as of now we are looking to collect funds of $45 from each family to fund these activities. If we need to scale back on our celebration we will offer full or partial refunds at that time, depending on the circumstances. We want to be clear that if you are not able to pay this amount, you will definitely still be included in the celebration. There are also options to donate more than the requested amount to support our Stoller families where contributing would be an unnecessary burden. We are very hopeful that things will be in a much different place come June!
We are requesting that you make your $45 payment using the link below by February 15th. Please also fill out your information using the other link in this email. This is not to track who pays or who doesn’t but ensures that your $45 goes to the 8th grade fund since the PTO has multiple sources of income. This also helps us track how close we are to our goal of fully funding these activities.
Last but not least, if you would like to help out with any of the aforementioned activities in a volunteer capacity, please make sure to mark your interests on your MyImpact volunteer profile and volunteer form link.
Any questions? Contact our 8th grade committee at Stoller8grade@gmail.com
We look forward to celebrating our 8th graders in the best way possible!
Thanks for your support,
Paul Baker, Amy Charon & Bradi Gates
