Spring Break
Here is the CDC link to travel advice. Please remember that we are all in this together and any exposure impacts all of us. Upon return, please continue to keep your child home if they are experiencing any symptoms of illness. Working together we can all continue to stop the spread of this virus.
First week of full days - HUGE success
We have also learned that the face shields work better with masks on for Music class. The desk shields in this class are not optimal and they fall off the desks too much. We are adjusting as we go making sure everyone is receiving the best instruction and staying safe.

SPACE - Anxiety and OCD Treatment Center of Ann Arbor
We are happy to announce that we will be running a virtual 6 week/12 session SPACE program beginning April 27. SPACE is an evidence-based program for parents/caregivers of children and adolescents who are dealing with anxiety disorders. The tools parents learn in this program can help reduce or eliminate your child's time in individual therapy, depending on the degree of severity.
A flyer is attached with more information. An individual consultation session will be done prior to April 27 to make sure this group is right for you and your child's concerns. We can bill Blue Cross or BCN for that session. At least one parent/legal guardian must attend a consultation session prior to signing up for the group. Since each session of the group is important to learning SPACE skills, payment for the full 6 weeks is due prior to the first group session.

MDHHS came out with some new guidelines for handling positive cases.
- Asymptomatic person with Positive rapid antigen (rapid test) followed by negative PCR within 48 hours = go with negative PCR, no need to quarantine close contacts (likely false pos rapid). As long as no symptoms developed.
- Asymptomatic and symptomatic persons with positive rapid antigen followed by a negative PCR over 48 hours later = close contacts DO need to quarantine. A second negative PCR at least 24 hours from first needed to release from isolation, and improvement in symptoms if symptomatic.
- Symptomatic person with known close contact exposure to a case, with Positive rapid followed by negative PCR within 48 hours = this is tricky, consult with Oakland County - rare but happens occasionally and we'll want to assess more closely.
- Symptomatic person with negative rapid antigen and positive PCR at any point - go with PCR. If both negative, stay home until symptoms improve as likely a non-COVID illness
If there is a case in your child's classroom and your child is a close contact you will be contacted individually. The letter that comes out from the building is very generic and indicates that there is a case in the building but because of privacy we are unable to share who the child is, what grade they are in and who their teacher is.

Conferences and PTA Thank you
Thank you to our amazing PTA for sponsoring Gina Stevens, author, for our TK-2 children and Mad Science for our 3-5 children. I heard that both groups loved the virtual field trips. Thank you PTA also for taking care of our teachers with treats in the lounge for them to take and snack on in between conferences. You always treat our teachers well and we thank you.
