MECC Club Meeting
The next meeting for the Early Childhood Club is October 11th. Join us in Room 2221.
We'll have a short business meeting, and then plan for our annual FirstStep event and Trunk or Treat. This is a great venue to visit with old friends and make new ones. New members welcome! (membership is $10 plus $10 or $15 for a T-shirt).
You're also invited to the SFT meeting, "Challenges and Surprises of Subbing and Getting Hired" (see information below for details).

Interested in joining Kappa Delta Pi?
Kappa Delta Pi is an international honor society for educators which promotes networking, personal, and professional development and community involvement.
Guidelines for application to the Sigma Xi Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi at Madonna University are:
Child Development Students:
- Sophomore standing (the equivalent of at least 30 semester hours).
- Twelve hours of early childhood course work.
- At least a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Two letters or recommendations from Madonna University professors – We prefer at least one to be from a child development faculty member.
- Check/money order payable to Madonna University for $50.00.
Education Students:
- At least 9 hours of Education courses completed at Madonna (or equivalent transfer credits) with a passing grade).
- At least a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Two letters or recommendations from Madonna University professors – We prefer at least one to be from an Education faculty member.
- Check/money order payable to Madonna University for $50.00.
Applications are available in the Education office in room 2228. The completed application, two recommendations, and check should be put in a sealed envelope and left in Ms. Diana Wilcox’s mailbox in the Education office.

LiveText
Starting this fall, LiveText, an electronic portfolio and accreditation management system, has been integrated into all graduate courses.
Undergraduates will be utilizing the LiveText system beginning in the Fall of 2013.
