network topologies
and what they are
bus network
bus network
A bus network is an arrangement in a local area network () in which each node (workstation or other device) is connected to a main cable or link called the bus. The illustration shows a bus network with five nodes. a disadvantage is that if one wire is cut all of the computors will be shut down
ring network
The ring network. In a ring network each device (workstation, server, printer) is connected to two other devices, this forms a ring for the signals to travel around. Each packet of data on the network travels in one direction and each device receives each packet in turn until the destination device receives it. one disadvantage is if the server is broke all computers don,t work. one advantage is if one wire is cut some computers may still work
star network
the star network is bad because if the server is broken all computers will break but is good because if one wire is broken the other compoutors will work
