We are off to another fabulous week in fourth grade! I am hoping to meet with all parents or guardians by the end of this week. I have a great deal of information to share with you about your child's progress so far this year. I will be conducting conferences via zoom, in person, or by phone call. Learning Goals for the Week
ELA Reading: I can determine a theme of a story, drama, or poem from details in the text; summarize the text.
ELA Social Studies:
1) I can identify explicit details in an informational text.
2) I can actively engage in reading of information text for sustained periods of time for the
purpose of connecting prior knowledge and experiences to text.
Math: I can read and write multi-digit whole numbers up to and including 100,000 using
numerals, number names, and expanded form.
I can add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers up to and including 100,000 using
the standard algorithm with place value understanding.
Social Studies:
1) I can explain the impact that human activity has on the availability of natural resources in
North Carolina.
2) I can explain the impact of technology (communication, transportation, and inventions) on
North Carolina’s citizens, past and present.
3) I can explain how people, events and developments brought about changes to communities
in various regions of North Carolina.
Classroom Needs
Paper Towels and cleansing wipes (clorox or any kind) are greatly needed!
