The Parent Coordination Network and Texas Education Agency Division of Federal and State Education Policy host an annual Parent Organizations Academy. The purpose of the Academy is to ensure parent organization representatives have timely and accurate information to provide to the families they serve. The Academy in January 2016 covered topics related to special education in Texas, including legislative updates, foster care, assistive technology, reading, and updates in the areas of state assessment and legal framework.
Parent Academy participants have the opportunity to network with other parent organization representatives and can take the information learned back to the families they serve. Please contact your region’s parent coordination contact for additional information.
