Holland Elementary School Message
October 31, 2019
Hello HES Families,
Despite the recent rain, it seems like the children had a great time during our Halloween activities at school. It was possible that we could've held the parade outside, but the ground was slippery and light rain may have potentially damaged some students' costumes. Thank you to the staff and families for being flexible and providing the students with a chance to safely show off their costumes on the stage. We also got lucky this evening that the rain held out for trick-or-treating, and I hope that your children had a fun night. Please note that the HES Student Council will again be collecting any unopened candy for a donation to an area food pantry.
On Friday, the students will participate in their first Hawk assembly. The staff and I will be facilitating these assemblies throughout the year, and it will provide routine opportunities for us to build community, recognize students, and provide large-scale activities. During our first Hawk assembly, the children will be learning about our Hawkeye Acknowledgement program. More information will be provided soon to families, but I encourage families to take the time this weekend to ask their children about how the Hawkeye program works.
