Amy Melling
Amy Melling's bio:
I graduated from the University of Utah’s Counseling Psychology doctoral program in 2014 after completing my internship at the University of San Diego’s Counseling Center. I have worked primarily at college counseling centers, but have also worked in hospital and community mental health settings. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults who are struggling with emotional difficulties, relationship/interpersonal issues, developmental and identity concerns. I integrate cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, existential and humanistic techniques into my approach to therapy.
I was born in Arizona and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada before moving to Illinois for college. I earned my bachelor’s degree in business/economics and psychology and worked as a manager of a few Cold Stone Creamery stores before attending graduate school in Utah. I spent one year in California for internship before moving to Austin in the summer of 2014 for my husband to pursue graduate studies in Landscape Architecture at UT. We have one daughter named Shyla who was born last summer. For fun, I enjoy swimming, roller coasters, waterskiing, traveling, and playing card and board games.Fun and Interesting Facts:
