Farewell 2022

Kia ora tatou,

I wish all members of the Stanley Avenue School Community a wonderful festive season. Due to Covid, I haven't had the chance of a traditional face to face goodbye for the year, but everyone is in my thoughts, especially our Year 8 leavers who are about to embark on their secondary school journey. I would also like to extend my best wishes to school families moving to other parts of the country.

Enjoy special times with family, whānau and friends over the break. We look forward to continuing to nurture, grow and guide our Stanley Ave learners in 2023.

On behalf of the Staff and Board of Trustees,

Meri Kirihimete

John Byers

The wait is over...........A massive congratulations to our amazing Team Bug Smashers who have been awarded the ITP Choice award at this years National competition.

This is a huge effort and the judges went on to say that their hard mahi had certainly paid off, as the projects and presentations in 2022 were next level and made their decision a very hard one.

Congratulations again to Gaebriel Gamble, Christiaan Kuhn, Jesse Sutherland and Phoenix Barrington. We are so proud of you all.

Class of 2022 Graduation

Last Thursday, our Year 7 and 8 students, along with their family members, put on their dancing shoes and came along to celebrate our Class of 2022. The Rec Centre looked spectacular after being transformed into a Black and Gold Masquerade Ball. A huge thank you to everyone involved , but especially our Ruru teachers, Ange Valencia, Adreena Bishop, Donnis Harrison and Lyndsay Oldham. There is a lot of hard work and planning that goes into an event like this, but it is so worth it to see the smiles on faces on the night. It is always wonderful to send our Year 8s off to college, with a night full of reflection on their years at Stanley Ave, as well as the opportunity to make some final memories with their friends and family. Special mention must go to our Valedictorian, Wynn Williams, for a very funny and thought provoking speech on behalf of his peers.

Thank you to Tristan Thompson for taking awesome photographs once again, and to Jen at Te Aroha Racecourse for the use of the tables and chairs.

She talked about, being kind, putting in effort and having a good attitude, as the three things that can help you to be the best you possible.
