Fun Times On Campus

Hello Phoenix families,

Last Friday was the HSMC club rush. It was wonderful to see the diverse interests of our Phoenix students. From the debate club to the chess club to everything in between, there are many opportunities for our students to become involved here at HSMC.

We are looking at the calendar to schedule our HSMC information nights. You are our best ambassadors and recruiters and we need to get the HSMC word out to as many people as possible. Please follow us on social media and when HSMC posts, please "like" it and then repost so it will reach as many people as possible. The more we can get our name out there so people see the wonderful things we are doing, the better it will be for our program. Thank you for your support.

Do not forget the vaccine mandate goes into effect October 15th. Every HSMC student must have a vaccine or an exemption on record in order to continue coming to campus for class. If you have any questions or need help complying with the mandate, please contact the office.

Have a wonderful week.

Emotional Wellbeing Conference for Parents

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, there’s been much well-deserved attention to the emotional impact the pandemic is having on children. It’s also vital that we recognize the ways it’s affecting us as adults. That’s why the Ventura County Office of Education is presenting our first-ever Social and Emotional Learning Conference for adults.

A special session for parents and caregivers on Saturday, September 25. You can learn more and reserve your spot at www.vcoe.org/health.

New Club!

Film and Photography Club

The film and photography club on the HSMC campus will have weekly themes, as well as an opportunity to present your photos/films every week. You can make them as funny or as serious as you would like. This club will differ from Mr. Hoobs' film class in that we will not be watching films, but shooting them, or, if that's not your style, just taking photos.

The club will be meeting in TR-3 every Friday from 12:00 - 12:40. This is a place where you can express your personal identity, while also creating a laid back environment to de-stress every week. For questions, please contact Mars at 5116634@mrpk.org
