Looking Ahead to Next Week's Learning
*Traditional Literature Homework Due October, 31*
Reading:
We will be working on finding the main idea using a nonfiction text. We will then learn how to turn that into a summary. We will also be taking our first district CBA on Thursday. This will be used for diagnostic purposes for the teachers.
Writing:
We will be working on revising our middle and end of our beginning of year benchmark narrative. We will then revise, edit, and publish these for our next SBBB boards.
Spelling:
Week 9 words are in your children's binders. The pretest will be given on Monday.
Grammar:
We will be working on adjectives as well as learning the proof for than and then. There will be a grammar quiz on 10/28. Kids should study their Grammar Times in their binder.
Social Studies:
We will be learning about Ancient Egypt communities.
Math:
We will be working on elapsed time within the hour. We will also be taking our 3 unit district test on Thursday. This is based on the homework the students have had the past two weeks. Reviewing the homework will be a great way to study for the district test. We will also review in class.
Science:
We will continue to learn about force and motion. This week will be full of fun labs in which students will be able to measure force and compare and contrast simple machines.
