A (Final) Note from Julie:

Happy end of the 2015-2016 school year! Happy (almost) summer!

The end of the year seemed to arrive in a hurry, and I haven’t had the chance to say goodbye and thank each of you for everything you’ve done over the years to serve the Adams 12 learning community. It has been an honor to work alongside you, and as I leave Adams 12 I am celebrating the people that provide vital programming for our community:

  • The Digital Literacy Partnership is filled with talented visionaries and professionals who consistently provide amazing learning opportunities with limited resources.
  • The Library Media Techs are one of the most dedicated and insightful groups in the district. Your ability to solve problems, think outside of the box, and demonstrate flexibility is incredible.

Thank you for your service to students, teachers, and families and for expanding learning options for your communities in spite of the budget and time constraints that you face. You are AMAZING and it has been an honor to work with you throughout the past nine years.

Best wishes for a relaxing summer and continued success in the years to come!

Elementary Curriculum Updates

These updates were sent out to schools, but we wanted to make sure you all had the opportunity to see them. Please send Tiah your questions and comments. She will do her best to get you answers.

Woodglen's STEM Science Week!

Nathan W. organized a STEM science week opportunity for 5th grade students, who were given the opportunity to rotate through nine Makerspace stations and solve STEM challenges at each station with their teams. The students had a blast and were able to explore a variety of new tools and activities. Many of the learning tools were purchased with the Five Star Foundation Grant awarded to Woodglen Elementary School.

Destiny Upgrade/Mackin Integration

We will be upgrading Destiny to version 13.5 starting on the morning of Wednesday, June 1st. Destiny will be unavailable until the upgrade is finished.

Jennifer will send out an email once it is finished running. In prior years, it has not taken all day, but for planning purposes, be prepared for that possibility.

Mackin integration will also take place early this summer. Plan on student backpacks disappearing on June 1 as well. Students will still be able to access MackinVia with the generic login throughout summer. If students wish to login through Follett Shelf, they can use their universal ID and password.

Thanks for your cooperation and sorry for any inconvenience. Please inform any staff you think may be impacted.
