Help Our Students SEE It So They Can BE It!

Young Women's College Prep is seeking professional women from various careers to participate in this year's "Cool Women/Hot Jobs" career day on Thursday, January 22nd. Please help us empower more than 250 7th, 8th, and 9th grade girls as they learn about exciting careers from dozens of successful women in our community!

Program Schedule:

  • 9:00 am - Registration
  • 9:35 am - Speaker Session 1
  • 10:20 am - Speaker Session 2
  • 11:05 am - Keynote Address by Annette Ramos: Master Storyteller, Teaching Artist, and Founder of the Rochester Latino Theatre Company
  • 11:50 am - "Table Talk" with our students over a catered lunch. Share your passion and your career story.

You are being invited to participate in this exciting day because you are a COOL woman with a HOT job that we want our students to know about! Due to limited space, we can only accept 30 speakers for this year's event. If you are interested, please fill out the speaker interest survey, and submit it by December 31st. YWCP will choose this year's speakers based on career fields that are unique, in demand, and of most interest to our students.

Note: On the survey, you can request to participate on a panel of speakers in a similar career field, or to host your own solo workshop. (A majority of sessions will feature panels.)

  • Panels will give participants time to share their educational and career journeys, and to answer student questions as moderated by a YWCP teacher.
  • Solo workshops will require a hands-on activity that teaches the students about an aspect of your job. For example: role play, game, worksheets, etc. Keep in mind, this program is intended for girls ages 12-15. Each session will consist of approximately 20-25 students.

Thank you for your interest and please feel free to share this email with other COOL WOMEN!
