Please, especially at the end of the day … use the crosswalk at dismissal and park legally if you are driving. Students’ safety is worth it!

Fourth Grade Service Project

It’s time for the annual fourth grade service project benefiting the Dubuque Regional Humane Society. The fourth graders would like to collect donations for the Humane Society. Collections will be taken in each classroom the week of December 8-15. In this season of giving, please be generous to our animal friends and help support our School-Business partner.

GO FETCH!

Caring for over 5,500 animals each year comes with a list of items that we need to go fetch. We’d appreciate your assistance with some of these purchases!

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING

On the upcoming late arrival on Friday morning teachers’ learning will include;

· Technology tools that can enhance student and adult learning

· Examining student work in Kdgn.-2nd grade to help us plan instruction

These sessions for professional learning are designed to improve our own knowledge and skills so that we can increase our effectiveness in supporting the learning of each and every child we serve.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ORCHESTRA STUDENTS

These Bryant orchestra students performed at George Washington Middle School last Thursday night with elementary orchestra students from across the city. We are very proud of them! A special thank you to their orchestra teacher, Ms. Tieskotter.

THE GIVING TREE PROJECT

Bryant is working with Project Concern again this year and is sponsoring a Giving Tree for 4 families in need during the winter holiday season. Please consider stopping by the bulletin board outside of the school office to select a gift tag. Their wish lists include basic household supplies, clothing and toys. Any questions, please call the Bryant office 552-3400. Return wrapped gifts to us by December 15th. Thank you for supporting this project.

SPIRIT DAY – Friday, Dec. 19

Students and staff are encouraged to celebrate our school spirit by wearing blue/yellow or Bryant apparel. We are particularly joyful to be celebrating the spirit of caring that exemplifies our community.

CHOIR BREAKFAST

Families of Bryant Choir members will be hosting the annual Bryant Choir Holiday Breakfast on Thursday, December 18th at 7:30 a.m. in the Bryant gym. WINTER CLOTHING AVAILABLE AT BRYANT

For families who may find it helpful, the Bryant school counselor office has a number of winter clothing items available. Due to generous donations there are jackets, boots, hats, mittens/gloves, sweatshirts, and other items—mostly used but in good condition, and some new. Feel free to give Ms. Anderson a call or leave a message (552-3406) to inquire about items or schedule a time with her (before or after school) to stop in. HOLIDAY MUSIC

WINTER DAY CAMP

Who: Dubuque County Conservation Board Where: Swiss Valley Nature Center

When: Monday and Tuesday December 22nd and 23rd 2014 10 am to 12 pm

Children ages 7-12 are welcome to attend the Winter Day Camp. The camp will be held at Swiss Valley Nature Center. We will hike, bird watch, build snow forts, learn about native people, build bird feeders and enjoy upcycle crafts. The participants must pre-register by calling 563.556.6745. There will be hot chocolate, snowshoes, and other supplies provided; remember to dress for the weather, we will be going outside each day of the camp!
