Personal Backround
Salvador Dali was a surrealist artist born in Figueres Spain. He had a very eccentric personality and was viewed as bizarre by others. Sometimes his strange behavior gained more attention than his actual artwork. He created a wide range of work including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, writing, and film. All of his art stuck with the surrealism movement showing very strange and dreamlike images.
Surrealism Movement
Dali was a huge part of the surrealism movement. His best piece of work The Persistance of Memory gained lots of attention. He spent a lot of time collaborating with other surrealist artists. He excelled in many different forms and even did numerous self portraits that showed off his bizarre side and his interesting mustache.
Why I like it...
The reason I like this painting so much is because it reminds me of something I would see in a dream. It doesn't make sense visually but it's something that makes sense emotionally. The colors work very well together. The only thing I don't like is the completion and arrangement, it's arrangement is a bit off to me.
