MHS Post Secondary Planning Night
Please join the MHS School Counseling Department for their annual Post Secondary Planning Night on Thursday, January 18th, from 6:30-8:30 pm in the MHS Auditorium. Families will have the opportunity to listen to sessions pertaining several topics which include College Testing: ACT vs SAT, College Admissions for Public and Private Colleges, Services for Students with Disabilities and how to pay for college.
The evening is targeted to parents and guardians of students in Grades 8-11 but all are welcome to attend. We hope you will join us for this valuable evening as you begin to think about your child’s post secondary plans.
Senior Class Resources
Massachusetts AFL-CIO Scholarship Awards Program
The Massachusetts AFL-CIO are pleased to announce the 66th Annual Massachusetts AFL-CIO Scholarship Awards Program. All graduating seniors in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts who are seeking a college degree or job training are eligible to compete. Scholarship awards this year total over half a million dollars.
To qualify, students must be a senior in high school, fill out the online application and then take our exam. Applicants must register in advance at www.massaflcio.org/scholarships. The organization will be accepting applications through Friday, December 22, 2023.The deadline is firm, and no late registrations will be accepted. The exam consists of 30 multiple choice questions and one written essay. All questions will be selected from the information in the study guide.
Exams will be administered online at Milton High School between Monday, February 5, 2024, and Friday February 9, 2024. Students will need access to a computer or tablet and all testing will be taken in school under supervision from an exam proctor. Further testing instructions will be sent to exam proctors in the last week of January.

Interested students should sign up online and then start studying.
FAFSA Available on December 31st!
If you are applying for Financial Aid, mark your calendar!~The New FAFSA Debuts Dec. 31
The countdown to the availability of the new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is on! Mark your calendars for the expected release date - December 31. You can list up to 20 colleges, and it will expedite your application if you have the Federal School Code for each college.
If you have previously completed the FAFSA, there have been some changes. Read a summary of what's new on the Hartwick College finanical aid webiste.
Visit the Office for Student Financial Assistance website for instructions on completing the FAFSA.
If you and your family family need assistance filling out the new FAFSA form, the financial aid team at your first choice college is on top of the changes and ready to help. Call them or visit their website if you need help over break.
Community Service & Employment Opportunities
Are you looking for community service opportunities? Throughout the year you will be able to access any community service opportunities here. There are already several opportunities available for students to volunteer. Get involved now! If you are looking for employment or internship opportunities this page will be updated throughout the year.
Milton Sports for All is offering Candlepin Bowling and we need your help!! We are looking for high school students to help with scoring and bowling with students in grades 4-8! This event is always held at Cunningham Hall on Wednesday afternoons starting January 10th- March 27th. If you can help out from 4:30-5:1 or 5:30-6:15 or both then please sign up!
