Visiting Author Was Special
The children were treated to learning about how a book was created from the inside out. Ms. Yoon captivated the children with her stories about how she authored books. The kids were very engaged by the process of writing since they spend part of their days as young authors.
Book Fair Coming
Our Scholastic Book Fair is coming! The materials arrived today and I hope that you will put this event on your calendars. I am sure that your child's teacher will be giving you information on this as well. Questions about volunteeering can be sent to Nicole Wurster.
Tech Specialist
This young first grader in Mr. Heinze's class will be interviewing classmates to help her with answering computer/tablet operation questions. She demonstrated such terrific computer skills that Mr. Heinze put her in charge of the interview process, complete with the questions for the candidates. She reviewed the questions with Mr. Budisch today.

Ask your first grader, what is that thing?
Talk about hands-on science. . . .
He is one of our treasured guests.
Mr. David Stokes has been here to educate and entertain our first graders and their studies of animals for many many years. He is a certified biologist, botantist, and educator. he has been around our world and loves the animals on our planet more than anyone I have ever met. He brings joy and passion to the study of animals with fins, fur, and feathers.
Second Tower Garden in Grade 2
Mrs. Kenney (soon to be Hazelwood) and her class will be observing plants/vegetables growing in their tower garden. With the NexGen science standards in place at the Primary School, these second graders will be seeing first hand how the growth process works. A third tower garden will be coming to Ms. Bakkum's class in the near future. There is an emphasis on plants in 5K-grade 2.

Mike Budisch
It is all about our mindset and how we can use it to support the children in our school. I try to bring the mindset of how to help the kids realize they can get smarter, and it is a great thing to get smarter. Our upcoming assembly is about "I can do it!" Should be fun!
