1.Food safety is an issue that few Americans think about until someone becomes sick from eating contaminated food.


2. Although the United States is considered to have one of the safest food supplies in the world, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that 48 million people experience foodborne illnesses each year. More than 128,000 are hospitalized with these illnesses and about 3,000 die. Diseases caused by major foodborne pathogens in the United States cost about $78 billion annually.


3. Food can become contaminated with harmful bacteria and other microorganisms during preparation, serving, or storage. Under certain conditions, these organisms multiply and reach dangerous levels, resulting in serious illnesses when ingested.

my solution

My solution, is that people need to watch what they eat and to check the dates on there food for they know when its getting bad or not, then people need make sure it tast good and smells good and that it looks right and people just need be more careful what they eat and what there going to eat.
