What the Brandenburg Gate symbolizes

Many people think of the gate as a symbol of peace. The gate was built for an entrance to the Prussian palace but now it means much more. Now it means peace and a divided Germany. The Quadriga that is atop the Brandenburg Gate symbolizes, Triumph, victory, and fame. What makes the Brandenburg gate worthy of our admiration is that if if it wasn't there everyone past that wall would be German.

A special monument to Berlin, Germany

Why The Brandenburg Gate is so special

This monument is a good symbol why we shouldn't take things for granted. Without this monument there might not be a divided Germany. Ronald Reagan said it best, "Behind me stands a wall that encircles the free sectors of this city, part of a vast system of barriers that divides the entire continent of Europe. . . . Standing before the Brandenburg Gate, every man is a German, separated from his fellow men."
