Reading Wonderland! January 2016
Reading Makes Winter More Bearable! Students in grades K-2 are going to be able to participate in an at home reading challenge starting this week and ending February 5th. Their challenge is to read as many books over the next four weeks as possible. Once a student has completed a log they can return it for a new log. The student who reads the most books at home during our challenge will win a stuffed bear! I have three large bears that I can use as the top winners for each grade level, but I still need a few smaller bears for class winners. Thanks to those teachers who have donated a bear. If anyone has a new or gently used bear I still need a few more as prizes. Thanks for all your help!
Chapter Book Challenge: Students in grades 3-5 are now reading for the 3rd goal. I have placed bookmarks in your boxes. Students do not need to return the bookmarks to me. That is for them to keep up with what books they have read. Remember students need to read 4 books to complete this month's challenge, two from the SC Nominee Lists and two of their choice. All book review forms need to be complete by Feb. 8th.
The 2nd reading challenge celebration will be held in the library on Monday, Jan. 25th. Keep a look out for an email stating which of your students are invited to attend and the invitations in your box.
Thanks for your support and encouraging your students to participate!
