Our Classrooms Have Invaded Your Homes!

We know our classrooms have invaded your homes, and we have certainly disrupted your privacy.

That said, we want to bring to your attention that we've seen and heard some things from students, adults, and other family members that would be deemed inappropriate in our classroom (for example: colorful language, inappropriate attire/not enough attire, etc.). We ask that you please make yourselves aware that between the hours of 7:50 am-3:24 pm, though we are "in your homes," you are also "in our classrooms," so please watch your language and make sure you are dressed appropriately.

Thank you for your support.

Potential Re-Opening

As soon as we get information from APS regarding whether to stay remote or move to in-person learning starting in the 2nd quarter, we will notify our VCS families of our plans.

We've been told we'll have an answer no later than 9/22, so please be on the lookout for notifications from us around that time.

Please make sure to call the front desk at 303-338-4110 when your child will be or has been absent from class. You will receive an automated phone call in the evening if your child was absent from any classes throughout the day if you do not call in to notify us of the absence. You may email teachers to get make up work, but call the front desk, as well.

Free and Reduced Lunch Application

Even though we started the year in remote learning, it is still important for every family to complete a Free and Reduced Lunch Application even if they think they do not qualify. Applications are available at and only take about 10 minutes to complete. If you applied last year, click ‘Login’ to enter the site and apply again for the 2020-21 school year. If you are applying for the first time, click ‘Register’.

Families who require assistance completing the application may contact the Nutrition Services Department at 303-343-0295 or Ms. Torres and Ms. Zewdu at 303-338-4110.

VCS East Registration

Due to the current circumstances, we will not be hosting our annual registration event. Instead, we are taking advantage of this unusual time to transition to more of a paperless organization. Please be sure to accurately complete the form (click the link below). It is extremely important for VCS to have your most updated information.

Feel free to contact the main office if you have any questions or need assistance filling out the form.

Core Virtue of the Month

Respect and Responsibility

At the beginning of every year, we focus on RESPECT AND RESPONSIBILITY, as it is a wonderful foundation on which to build all the other virtues we explore. While we may not be in the classroom to teach these virtues, they are still extremely applicable in our current remote setting. Now, more than ever, our students are being asked to be responsible for their learning. They must show respect on a virtual platform that often removes certain inhibitions of speech. These virtues can be vital to their success this year.
