Tchaikovsky's early life
Tchaikovsky was born on May 7, 1840. Ilya Petrovich who was Tchaikovsky's father was an influential citizen in Votkinsk. He was a magistrate, and lived on a large estate with many serfs working for him. Tchaikovsky's mother was Alexandra. It was Alexandra who was responsible in bringing music into Tchaikovsky's life. She would host musical parties and other celebrations. Alexandra proved o be a very cold and distant women. She wanted o return o St.Petersburg and hated the town. Bu Tchaikovsky still loved her a lot. He was a very shy boy who was very caring and affectionate. Tchaikovsky got his education from french protestant. She would become a major influence in Tchaikovsky's life for she recognized his gift and his sensitivity.

This is a painting of where Tchaikovsky moved to on November 1848. Tchaikovsky's mother Alexandra always wanted come here instead of living in the town back in Votkinsk. This painting uses a a wide variety of colors. It is a city with a long bridge. People usually lived in apartments and not in town houses.
