Dear Families:

One of the goals at North Lake Middle School is to promote open and frequent communication between the school and home. A Fall conference schedule has been prepared so families have the opportunity to virtually meet with their student’s teachers.

All conferences will be by appointment. Conferences will each be 10 minutes in length and held virtually with the individual teacher. By October 25th, there will be instructions for how to access the conference and meeting link for each teacher. Conference dates and times are as follows:

DATES AND CONFERENCE TIMES:

~Monday, October 25th (Early Release 12:20) NO conferences - teacher planning

~Tuesday, October 26th (Early Release 12:20) Conferences from 12:30-3:15 PM

~Wednesday, October 27th (Early Release 12:20) Conferences from 12:30-3:15 PM

~Thursday, October 28th (Early Release 12:20) Conferences from 12:30-3:15 AND evening conferences from 4:00-7:30 PM

~Friday, October 29th (85 minute Release 1:25) Conferences from 1:45-3:10 PM

For your convenience, there are two options for scheduling conferences:

Online Option: To schedule a parent/teacher conference for your student(s) visit the North Lake website or go to the following link: NLMS Fall Conferences

Phone Option: If you do not have computer access or would prefer to work with the Counseling Office to schedule your conference, call the Counseling Center at (425) 335-1640.

Starting October 4th, students will be taking the SBA and WCAS tests in both 6th and 7th grades. These tests were postponed from last Spring.

REMINDER - Students will need headphones that are wired/plugged in. Bluetooth headphones will not work for SBA testing.

Exciting News for our North Lake students! Our Winter sports program is now open to register your student(s) in FamilyID. The season begins November 8th and runs through January 21st, 2022. Register early and don't forget to upload a sport physical to have on file prior to practices beginning. For your convenience, click on the link below to begin the registration process. More information will be shared as we draw closer to to the start of the season. Tryouts are November 8th, 9th & 10th.

Attention Bulldog families,

Every Friday (except non-school days) we offer Grade Doctor for academic support! Grade Doctor is a weekly service offered to North Lake students that want extra time to finish assignments or to those that would like adult assistance while working on assignments. Students can get help in any academic service area from a group of North Lake staff members. Families will be required to provide transportation home from Grade Doctor.

When: Each Friday from 1:30-2:30

Where: Room 404

Who: Any interested student

It's Hispanic Heritage Month! The idea for Hispanic Heritage Month celebrated throughout the latter half of September and the first half of October began as a way to promote the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic-Americans - specifically those whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Communities mark the achievements of Hispanic and Latino Americans with festivals and educational activities.
