Fine Arts Programs Produce Virtual Shows, Outdoor Concerts, and Stream Live Events

To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, Denton ISD's fine arts program directors and students have worked diligently to prepare, record, and produce virtual shows, outdoor concerts, and stream live events, some with limited socially-distanced audiences. Our teachers have done an incredible job adapting and building their media skills so that student work in fine arts can be experienced by audiences in a safe way during the pandemic. Many thanks to our hard working teachers who have made these performances and online events possible for the student performers and audiences. Samples and a listing are provided below.

Braswell Band: Fuzion 2020

Below are a few links to some of the performances that took place at the Braswell HS Band's Fuzion 2020 event on December 11-12. Fuzion was presented in three performances over two days and featured the talents of the students and friends of the B-well Band. Performances included music, dance, and acting and ranged from holiday to funk to storytelling.

Social distancing and safety protocols were in place for both students and audience members. Safety measures that were taken included limited capacity inside the auditorium, required temperature checks, health screenings, mask wearing, and sanitizing of the performer and audience areas.

At the end of 2020 Fall semester, all of the high school orchestras of Denton ISD worked on an arrangement of Waltz of the Flowers from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker. This was arranged into multiple orchestra parts by Mr. Jeremy Atkins so that all of the different groups at each high school could participate at an appropriate level. This project to a multitude of hours of practice, recording, and production to complete. This video below is the culmination of the all of the audio recordings of each group as well as the video presentations. Congratulations and many thanks to all of the high school orchestra directors and students for this outstanding collaboration!

BHS- The 39 Steps: A Live Radio Play Promo

Braswell Bravo Co. invites you to livestream one of the performances of The 39 Steps: A Live Radio Play, January 7, 8, 9 at 7pm. This is a fun adaptation of the classic Hitchcock tale with BHS's masked and socially distant radio performers and foley artists. The Braswell Theatre students and directors so excited to share this livestream opportunity. Their technicians have learned camera operation, live switching and more A/V basics to bring the show live to your living room. The production runs about 40 minutes, so pop some popcorn, curl up on the couch and enjoy this fun event with your family!

Limited seating for the live performance is available to family members of the cast and crew. Social distancing and masks required. Tickets are only available online at www.braswelltheatre.com. No tickets available at the door.
