A Note from the Interim Principal
Dear Families,
Happy Easter! It is great to be back with you after the Easter holiday. I also had the opportunity to attend the NCEA (National Catholic Education Association) Conference in San Diego from Easter Monday to the following Thursday. It is so inspiring to be surrounded by Catholic educators from across the world --- all with lives dedicated to faith formation and academic excellence for the next generation of global leaders. The presentation spanned every topic imaginable and were excellent. And being in San Diego (my home for 5 years) was an awesome bonus! Easter Blessings to each of you as we continue these 50 days of Easter until Pentecost Sunday!
Blessings,
Veronica Tucker

Tech Buzz - Laptop Update
The Technology Committee met just before the Easter Break. We examined the first laptop option for our classrooms. We are waiting for the next two to arrive before making the decision to see what will best serve our students. More information to come.
Book Grant from The Red Oak Foundation
Many thanks to the Red Oak Foundation for providing books to each of our PK3 and PK4 students. Red Oak Books and the Diocese of Fort Worth have agreed to a partnership to promote reading aloud to young children by providing books for pre-kindergarten students attending All Saints, Holy Family, Our Lady of Victory, Our Mother of Mercy, St. George, St. Peter and St. Rita Catholic schools. Before the books were given to the students, they were read aloud. Mrs. Vasquez even read the Spanish version to our students. We are so thankful for this generous gift.
HFCS Middle School Dance - April 8th
You won't want to miss the dance this weekend. Prizes for the best 80's attire. See you there!
April 15th - Regular School Day
From Our HFCS PTO
We had a very productive (though small) meeting on March 29 and a delicious potluck dinner. Next school year’s calendar is drafted and being worked for completeness and conflicts.
The next PTO meeting is April 26. It was announced earlier as a morning meeting; but evening seems to be better for most people. So: April 26, 6:00 p.m. with childcare by our wonderful Extended Day Staff. We’re planning PTO meetings to be on the last Tuesday of the month.
It is time to fill leadership positions for next year. Here are the areas/roles:
- President-in-Waiting (or call it Vice President, this is the person who will be president in 2017-18.)
- Treasurer
- Room Parents – at least two per grade works well. These, of course, can be grandparents or other relatives who have Safe Environment Certification. It would be very helpful to discuss/decide these now for next year.
- Focal Points
o Teacher Appreciation
o Social
o Volunteers
o Fund Raising - Mandy Jonkers will do this again next year, thanks Mandy!!
o Projects (maybe)
IF YOU HAVE AN INTEREST IN ANY OF THESE AREAS, PLEASE LET ME OR YOUR ROOM PARENTS KNOW AND WE WILL DISCUSS FURTHER. All Roles can be shared. Email è pto@hfsfw.org
