EQUITYMATTERZ
A DINE & DIALOGUE SESSION FOR DIVERSE EDUCATORS
Gather with Diverse Educators to Talk Teaching, Leading, and Learning in Southern Nevada's Diverse Schools
Join us at Touro University Nevada on May 23rd from 5:30 – 7:30 pm for a gathering of diverse educators committed to equity in education and interested in being a part of the solution for solving the equity matters Southern Nevada’s diverse students and educators experience. Come out and enjoy a light dinner, share your teaching and leading stories from the field, and connect with colleagues from around the Southern Nevada region.
We especially encourage educators from diverse racial, ethnic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds to attend because we are interested in learning how to better support the development of culturally relevant curriculum, courses, and professional development opportunities meant to sustain and retain the best and brightest of Nevada’s diverse teaching population. More importantly, we are prepared to listen! We hope you decide to join us and we encourage you to invite your friends and colleagues to do the same.
Please RSVP soon—we have a limited number of spaces. Because we respect educator time, we will provide a $50 gift certificate available for the first 40 diverse educators who RSVP, attend, and fully participate in all activities on the evening of the dine and dialogue gathering,. For the purpose of this event, diverse educator is being defined as an individual from a diverse racial, ethnic, and/or linguistic background currently teaching, leading, and/or otherwise employed in P-12 education in a local Southern Nevada public and/or charter school.
