Dear Wausau School District Parents/Guardians and Staff:
We want to make you aware of a change to our masking policy at the elementary level. The Wausau Board of Education has voted to move away from the 5-day masking policy when there’s a positive case in a classroom effective immediately. This means beginning Tuesday, February 15, masks will be optional at all times, including when there’s a positive case going forward. Please know we will still continue to notify you of any positive cases in your child’s class.
As a reminder, students with a positive test are still required to quarantine for five days from their positive test date, with the test date being Day 0.
Please continue to contact your child’s school regarding any positive COVID-19 cases and keep your child/children home when they are sick.
We appreciate your ongoing flexibility.
Thank you,
Wausau School District Administration
