Teacher Appreciation Week Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time and resources to help thank all the teachers and staff at CBE for everything they do all year! The CBE Staff were very appreciative and want to thank you all for making this week a special one. You spoiled us all!

School Make Up Day

Due to the weather-related school cancellations on January 14, Fargo Public Schools will use the storm make up day built in to the school calendar. Fargo Public Schools will hold classes on Monday, May 16, 2022 (D-day). This day is now a day that students and staff are expected to be at school.

Good attendance, whether at school or on the job, is very important. If a student must be absent from school, please call Attendance @ (701) 446-1710.

Class attendance will be reported daily by period. It is the intent of the attendance secretary to contact parents at home or work the same day by phone to directly report any class(es) that have been reported as absent.

Library Notice

Hello CBE Families,

CBE students have checked out 17,150 items this year! However, it is that time of year again when we are looking for library books and materials to be returned. E-mails were sent to parents and guardians this week about any books or materials that students have lost or overdue. Please look for these items and return them as soon as possible! ALL books are due May 20th!!

If you cannot find an item, or if it was damaged, we request that you pay for the replacement of that item.

  • Books—pay the listed cost, OR buy a new or used replacement of the same title. (Amazon.com and Thriftbooks.com have a wide selection of quality used books).
  • Equipment (PLD’s, PLD damage, or power cords)—pay the listed cost

Payments can be made by check or cash in the library, or on SchoolPay. If you have any questions, please call the library at 701.446.1725 or contact me at the information below. Thank you for your help!

Lockers are equipped with a combination padlock loaned by the school. Lockers should be kept locked and combinations not shared with other students. Lost or stolen locks will be paid for by the student. The charge for a lost lock is $5.00. Students are responsible for books and personal possessions at all times. STUDENTS ARE ADVISED TO LEAVE VALUABLES AT HOME.

Nurse Notes - Attention current 6th grade families

The North Dakota law 23-07-17.1 requires immunizations before admission to school. Immunizations required for 6th graders before entering 7th grade are Tdap and MCv4. If your child has had these immunizations, please bring your record to the school office. If not, please receive the needed immunizations. The immunizations can be received at your private physician’s office, or through Fargo Cass Public Health. The Fargo Cass Public Health phone number to schedule an appointment is 701-241-1383. These immunizations are a requirement to be in school. If your student doesn’t have the required vaccines, your student could possibly be excluded from school. Additional note, in case of a disease epidemic, children not meeting the immunization guidelines with an exemption form on file would not be able to attend school until there is no longer any danger of further spread of the disease in question.

Thank you,

Cheri Koch RN (school nurse Carl Ben)

A waiver from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has enabled schools across the nation, including Fargo Public Schools, to provide all students free meals since the COVID-19 pandemic first disrupted K – 12 education in March of 2020. The free school meal benefits will expire after the last school day of the 2021 – 2022 school year.

What does this mean for families? In the fall of 2022, meals will return to paid-for status. Families will need to pay full price for student meals or fill out an application to qualify for free or reduced price meals. Applications for the 2022-2023 school year will be available starting July 1, 2022. Applications will be available on the Nutrition Services Department website after that date and will be shared at the start of the 2022-23 school year with families.
