Parent-Teacher Confereces
Writing
Reading
Change of plans! We are spending one more week in our informational unit to go back to the basics of nonfiction texts! This week we wrapped up our research by comparing and contrasting the way that two sources taught us about our topic! This is a skill that is difficult but ultimately so important in their reading! It's a huge part of reading in 5th grade! Just like in our fiction unit when we compared the way that two authors presented the same theme, they kids are expected to write about how two different authors taught the same topic in similar and different ways. We looked at both the author's craft and information given by the author.
Math
IXL Topics:
D.8 - D.15 and J.3 and J.4
Science/Social Studies
Science: The kids created what they believed the missing part of the artifact looked like!
Social Studies: The students finished up their Independence Project!
5Essentials Survey
We are again asking that ALL Goodrich families help us gather valuable data by completing the Illinois 5Essentials survey. The survey is completely anonymous. If you have children in more than one District 68 school, you may take the survey additional times. Kiosks will also be available during Parent-Teacher conferences. Follow the hyperlink below and click on the large blue box in the upper right corner which reads "Take The 5Essentials Survey!"
