A Walk In Time
History Of Social Movements
Where we are today
Social movements brought us to where we are today, and many martyrs have come from them. Dr. Martin Luther King, a civil rights activist, was assassinated for his beliefs and his attempts to make it so white and black men and women could co-exist. Suffragettes made it so that women had a voice in society, and it wasn't just left up to the men. Hippies also had their own movement, trying to stop the war overseas in Vietnam; but it was never taken as seriously because they were only focused on mind-expanding narcotics and living with nature.
