Characteristics of the seahorse
The seahorse has a horse like face and thier bodies are encased in rings of bony plates making them look like armored knights.They are very samll animals.The seahorse does not have a main color because it uses camouflage.The seahorse is a fish so it is a vertebrate,and its scientific name is Hippocampus(Trefill 19) ("Seahorse" 1).
Behaviors
Seahorses are very small animals so they don't swim very fast insted they swim slow and upright.The seahorse is a tropical animal and can not survive on land. Seahorses are not aggressive toward poeple because they are very samll.Seahorses are very scary animals. A seahorse spends its whole day hiding in the sea weed("Seahorse" 1).
Predator & Prey
The seahorse feeds on plankton, small fish, and tiny shrimp.Fish or crabs can be its predators("Seahorse" 1).
Habitat
Seahorses are mainly found in shallow tropical and temperate waters throughout the world, and live in sheltered areas such as seagrass beds, estuaries, coral reefs, or mangroves. Four species are found in Pacific waters from North America to South America.
