The Arcola Newsletter with All the News at Arcola!
November 5, 2022
Good Afternoon Arcola Families!
Thank you to all that were able to make it in this week (or the past couple) for the Parent Teacher Conferences. It is always great to be able to have time to talk to your child's teacher and fully understand how they are doing in class. I would like to ask that all parents log into ParentVue this week to review their child's report card and acknowledge it. In the past, we only get acknowledgement from around 50% of parents. It is very important for you to see each report card to better understand the strengths and areas for growth for your child.
We are still very busy at Arcola with a couple of assemblies this week and will be ending the week with our Veteran's day Assembly. We invite all Veteran's and families to join us in the gym on Friday to celebrate all of our Military Veterans!
There are some important updates in this Newsletter and I am asking for your help in providing donations as we approach Thanksgiving and Winter Break. Please check the flyers below for more information.
I wanted to take a moment to announce that Agnes Schauer, our Financial Technician, will be retiring from Arcola right before Thanksgiving Break. Mrs. Schauer has been the Financial Technician since this Arcola building opened and has been instrumental in a lot of the behind the scenes magic that happens in our building. Her last day in the building will be Tuesday, November 22nd and I ask that you join us in celebrating her upcoming retirement!
Enjoy your weekend and don't forget to turn those clocks back tonight!

What is SAFE2TALK?
For many years we have encouraged students to share information about suspicious activity or unusual incidents with trusted adults in our schools, including teachers, coaches, principals and other administrators. Loudoun County Public Schools and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office are collaborating on the use of a new mobile anonymous tip application called “Safe2Talk.”
This app can easily be downloaded onto any mobile device through the device’s App Store. While we prefer that all information is brought directly to the attention of a trusted LCPS staff member or law enforcement officer, we understand that some students and parents may wish to remain anonymous.
In support of See Something, Say Something, please speak with your children about this app and help them download the app to their device. We also encourage you to download the app for yourself.
