What's New in the library!
PebbleGo and PebbleGo Next have undergone many changes again this year. Our PebbleGo for K-2 students now includes PebbleGo Animales, which is the animal database in Spanish. PebbleGo Next not only has a new interface that is super spectacular and more user friendly than before, but also includes their new science database. PebbleGo Next is designed for students in grades 3-6.
All staff and students have direct access to PebbleGo and PebbleGoNext via the LMC main website. Simply go to the LMC homepage and look at the Quick Links on the right hand side. No login required! Speaking of logins, some of our databases and resources, such as BrainPop, require a login to use them. The username is welibrary and the password is explorers.

Databases, Resources and apps
Here are some of the databases and resources found on the LMC Website plus some apps you need to download:
Destiny Quest or OPAC: Access from LMC homepage main menu or use the app, Destiny Quest. Your FCPS e-mail credentials can give you access to the eBooks, audiobooks, and your account information. The url is library.fcps.net (no http).
Follett Destiny, allows you to check out materials: same url listed above; however, username is welsub and the password is lillie
BrainPop and Brainpop, Jr. user name: welibrary password: explorers
Britannica ImageQuest is a searchable database of over 3 million images for students to use in projects or for you to use! user name: welibrary password: explorers
Britannica School Encyclopedia (No login required).
eBooks: We have over 700 eBooks and over 100 audio books accessible via the OPAC or the Destiny Discover app formerly called Brytewave K-12 . Just login in with your e-mail credentials.
Exploring Nature is an award-winning website with natural science content and materials for educators, students, and parents. Don't forget to login to access full content. The login is welibrary and explorers.
FreedomFlix uses the Cornerstones of Freedom books but in an enhanced eBook format. Each eBook contains embedded primary resources, videos, audio, images, and text. Any scholastic flix product requires the user name and password when accessed from home (welibrary, explorers).
KETencylomedia: Teachers and students can access via the OPAC's Onesearch feature, but if you want to obtain a personal login, use the passcode number 4B74-A21E to obtain one. There is also a generic login which is user name: wellibrary password: explorers
KYVL (Kentucky Virtual Library): access from home requires this login: user name is fayettesd2 and the password is lumpyheart16.
Leveled Book Room: Using the OPAC, you can see what books are available in any level. Use the "Resource List" on the left hand side of the OPAC or better yet, get the app (Destiny Quest). For you Lexile people, click here for the directions.

PebbleGo and PebbleGoNext: PebbleGo Next features articles for all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Washington, D.C.—plus 11 American Indian culture areas with 40 distinct tribes—this module explores the history, geography, government, people, and more plus a new science database.
ScienceFlix contains videos and articles about many different science topics. Also includes articles about careers in science, a Science Lab feature with projects and experiments, and quizzes.
TeachingBooks.net A district subscription to find materials related to books and authors, including teacher guides. No login required when accessing within school, but from home the user name is fcpstb and the password is tbooksky
World Almanac for Kids: Located under the Research Tools Menu on the LMC website on the Database link.
Checkout Procedures and Acquiring other FCPS materials
Check out procedures and closed circuit:
- Grades 1-3 are allowed 2 books
- K are allowed 1 book; 2 books after January and 1 must be fiction.
- Grades 4 and 5 are allowed 3 items. One *Playaway with parent permission and 1 magazine.
- All library materials are due each week on the student’s library day, but may be renewed at the librarian’s discretion. Students must bring books with them to have them renewed and to be eligible to check out another item. Tubs to collect library books will be delivered the day before the visit and delivered the afternoon PRIOR to their library day. Books not returned that afternoon may be brought to the library as students attend library specials.
- Teachers may checkout as many books as needed. No limit!
- If our library does not have the book you need, I can borrow from other schools who participate in the interlibrary loan. However, if you loose any of these materials, you must reimburse the school for its loss.
- You can reserve books, videos and other teacher materials from the Teacher Resource Center. Login to our OPAC and use your e-mail credentials to book materials and have them delivered to our school. Once again.
- We have a closed circuit system that is located in room 310, the communications room, near the gym. You must borrow Ms. Strange's key to access this room.
How can I be of assistance?

- Create bibliographies
- Plan collaboratively for research projects or other projects
- Assist with technology needs or requests
- Order materials
