A.G. Howard Skype Chat!!
~PTSA Sponsored Event~
On April 21st, Frost students had the opportunity to chat with acclaimed young adult author A.G Howard via Skype.
A.G. Howard is the author of the Splintered series - Splintered (YALSA Teen's Top Ten winner), Unhinged, and Ensnared. For more information about her books, please check out her website here.
Students were treated to a presentation about her inspirations as a writer, and they were very excited to hear about Howard's favorite books and movies from when she was a teen. In fact, several students were adding books to their To-Read lists after her talk!
Our students were also very curious about being a professional author and the publication process. They had excellent and numerous questions for Ms. Howard, and she spent a gracious amount of time answering each and every one.
Each student that participated in the talk were also given an autographed bookmark and poster courtesy of the Splintered author.
Book Wars!!
~PTSA Sponsored Event~
Students from four middle schools came together at Roberto Clemente Middle School on April 17 to participate in the second annual Book Wars competition. Students worked in teams from Clemente, Rosa Parks, Rocky Hill, and Robert Frost middle schools to answer a variety of book trivia questions.
Book Wars was a full year program where students met monthly with their teams to prepare for this competition day. Each team member read all 10 core books to prepare. We are very proud of all our RFMS teams. It was a very close competition. Everyone did an amazing job!
