Tashua Family Weekly Update
Mrs. Neumeyer, Principal
September 17, 2021
Dear Tashua Families,
It certainly has been a festive start to the school year! We thank you for attending Back to School Night to learn all about your child's daily routines and experiences at school. In the first 11 days of school, the students have worked hard to become well adjusted to their new classroom routines and I am confident they are ready to fully launch a rigorous year of learning! We are extremely fortunate to have a school community who works together to ensure the happiness and success of our students.
As the year begins, it will be important to help your child to prepare for a successful school year. Having a consistent nightly routine of completing homework, practicing math facts, and reading daily, will greatly benefit your child.
As you are aware, it takes a strong parent/teacher partnership to educate our children. We cannot do it alone and we rely on your commitment to your child’s education. Therefore, it will be important that you establish a relationship with your child’s teacher early in the year. Ongoing communication will be very important to ensure your child’s success. I highly recommend that you schedule an appointment with your child’s teacher if you have any concerns. While prior teachers do share information with new teachers, it is always best to share concerns from your perspective.
Please remember you should always begin with the classroom teacher if you do have concerns. Our teachers are always responsive. However, if you have shared a concern and you feel the issue has not been resolved, you may always contact me for support. Please be aware, questions and inquiries posted to social media platforms such as Facebook are not an appropriate nor respectful forum by which to communicate. These platforms are not monitored, supported or affiliated with Tashua School and could actually provide you with inaccurate information.
On a safety note, please be sure to avoid turning left off of Stonehouse road in the mornings and afternoons to access the parent drop-off/pick-up circle. The parent drop-off/pick-up circle should only be accessed by entering off of Dayton Road. In addition, please do not completely slow down or stop on Stonehouse Road during the school day to see if you can view your child while is enjoying recess. This is scary for students and they report "stranger danger" behavior. Lastly, when you are visiting the school, please be prepared to show a photo ID. We thank you for your cooperation!
We look forward to our continued work with you to ensure your child’s social, emotional, and academic success!
Best regards,
Mrs. Neumeyer
