Please review each and consider if you or another parent/guardian at CRES would be a good candidate for one of more of these offices. You may nominate yourself or someone else by completing the form and turning it into the CRES office or by emailing it to cumberlandroadpto@yahoo.com
Nominations officially open at the open forum meeting on Tuesday, March 1. Classroom CRES Fest Baskets
CRES Fest is fast approaching on April 22nd. As such, the room parents have been busy preparing and organizing ideas for your child’s classroom basket and a theme has been selected. By now your room parent should have communicated that theme to you and the items/ideas needed to put the basket together. If you have not heard anything yet or you have questions about the basket, please reach out to your child’s room parent, classroom teacher, or the PTO at cumberlandroadpto@yahoo.com and we will help answer any questions or get the information you need.
HSE21 In Action!
The clip below illustrates how technology can meaningfully amplify literacy instruction for our youngest learners. In addition to their traditional Reading and Writing Workshop with book making and small group reading conferences, students maintain organized electronic folders for their quick work at literacy stations - and, they can easily share their learning with you at home!
· Audio Books: build background on a topic or model reading fluency
· Phonemic Awareness: reinforcement through game play
· Building Word Families: application of a word pattern to other words
Dollars for Seniors Nears
As the winds of March blow in so does the annual Dollars for Seniors (DFS) tradition! Soon, more than 100 local seniors will take to the phones in a telethon style scholarship fundraiser. What makes DFS so special is that it rewards student effort and is not simply based on merit or need. Students from both area high schools work together to learn about local philanthropy, reflect on their time at HSE Schools, set goals, and try to earn money to help both themselves and their classmates pursue their higher education goals! It takes a lot of courage and a little practice for our students to dial the phone, so consider answering the call and pledging to help! Or you can give directly online in honor of the Class of 2016 at http://hsefoundation.org/events/dollars-for-seniors.
Thank you!!
K-4 iPad Fall of 2016

For families who choose to provide their own iPad, device requirements are as follows:
Model: (Full-sized) iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4 (iPad Retina), iPad Air, or iPad Air 2
Memory Size: 16 GB or greater
Internet: Firewalls and filters will enable secure use of Wi-Fi at school. Therefore, no additional
purchase of data plans/cellular/3G/LTE connection is needed."
