Wrightstown Ravens' News
Happy Thanksgiving!
During the Thanksgiving holiday, we are encouraged to reflect and show our gratitude for all that we are thankful for. This year, in particular, may have forced some to slow down and reevaluate what is most important in these unpredictable times. I know it has caused me to pause and look at all the good fortune in my life. I am thankful for:
- my family's health, support, and the blessing of my two happy boys
- the opportunity to engage our amazing students and partner with our supportive and caring school community
- to work alongside an incredible, talented team of educators who take care of children
- the brave healthcare workers and first responders caring for others
Whatever your plans may be this holiday, I hope it is filled with good health, peace and optimism for a brighter and safer year ahead.
I would like to thank all of the families who generously donated to our recent food drive to support the Wrightstown Food Cupboard. The donations were dropped off last week and a picture is included below. Also, a sincere thank you to Mrs. Sexton for organizing the provided snacks for staff today. Many families delivered individually wrapped snacks and drinks for the staff to enjoy. Your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated.
Lastly, I realize some families may be traveling this holiday. Please continue to inform the school of your travels by completing the Trip Form provided in this communication or reach out to me at bfox@crsd.org. I am proud of the proactive measures and communication by our families and school to ensure that together we continue to keep our students, staff, and families safe. Please reach out to me with any questions.
School will resume on Monday, November 30th!
Sincerely,
Beth
THANK YOU WES FOR YOUR FOOD DONATIONS!
Important Notice from the District Office
Dear CR School Community –
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, a time that historically sees a great amount of travel, we want to share the following newly released travel requirements from the PA Department of Health with you as well as sound recommendations from the Bucks County Health Department.
Last week, the Secretary of the PA Department of Health issued an Order regarding travel. Per the Order:
- Pennsylvanians visiting other states are required to have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to their return to the commonwealth or to quarantine for 14 days upon return to Pennsylvania. This does NOT apply to people who commute to and from another state for work or medical treatment.
The new travel order allows for testing upon return to PA if are you are not able to get tested in the 72 hours prior to your return to PA. Upon receipt of a negative test result, a student is permitted to return to school.
- This order applies to all individuals, whether they are symptomatic or not.
- Even if someone only goes to a remote area and, after arrival, does not leave the property, he or she still has to have a negative test or quarantine upon return to Pennsylvania.
- The Order applies to those persons who are traveling or have traveled, not their household members. However, if the traveling individual develops symptoms or has a positive test result, their close contacts, including household members, will need to quarantine.
The Order, which takes effect at 12:01 a.m. Friday, November 20, is a requirement and an enforceable disease control measure authorized by the Disease Prevention and Control Law. As such, Council Rock School District is expecting all staff and students to comply. For more information on the 11/17 PA Department of Health Order and related FAQ’s please CLICK HERE.
In reference to holiday travel, Dr. David Damsker, Director of the Bucks County Health Department, “strongly encourages Bucks County employees and families to be cautious at all times when away.” He suggests the following:
- Wear face coverings.
- Sanitize hands regularly.
- Avoid any large gatherings where social distancing is not being properly observed.
We will continue to share updated information from the PA Department of Health with you. We will also share preventative measures that we believe to be sound and helpful, such as those provided to us by the Bucks County Health Department.
As you make your plans, we ask that you always refer to health experts and keep the welfare of our entire community at the forefront of your mind when considering travel and extended gatherings this holiday season.
Respectfully –
Charles J. Lambert, Ph.D.

WES Supports Pediatric Specialty Care this Holiday Season!
For the past few years, our generous families and staff have supported an organization near and dear to one of our WES families, the LeDonni Family. We have chosen to support this organization once again this year! We have always received a positive response from our school community. Please know how much your generosity is appreciated! Pediatric Specialty Care is a facility, with 4 local locations, for special needs children. 75% of the children they house are orphans. WES will be accepting Amazon gift cards to benefit residents at four local Pediatric Specialty Care facilities beginning now and scheduled until Friday, Dec. 4th. Each year, the fundraiser raises thousands of dollars to benefit over 100 children that are medically fragile and/or technologically dependent. 70% of the residents are orphans. Due to the current circumstances, we will be accepting Amazon gift cards. If you are interested, please can sign up through Sign Up Genius (Pediatric Specialty Care: WES). Once you purchase an Amazon gift card, drop it into the designated box in WES’s vestibule or, if you feel more comfortable, you can send an Amazon e-gift card to Kledonni@yahoo.com with the message "WES".
Thank you for your support and kindness in advance!

At Wrightstown, whether you are hybrid or virtual, you are a Wrightstown reader! It is SO exciting to see our students get back into the swing of reading daily. We encourage all of our students to read 20 minutes a day. Even though 20 minutes does not seem like a lot of time, it truly makes a difference in how your child grows as a reader. Check out this link to see just what a difference it makes! Remember, it is OK to read with your child - you can share the book and each read a page or some nights they can just be the reader or the listener. Make it a fun family activity - build a fort, take out some flashlights, and read a book! Check out this link for some fun Thanksgiving stories and activities.
One last note, if you are struggling with book ideas for your children, Good Reads is a great site for you to get some. If you have a tough time finding a “just right” book for your child, Scholastic’s Book Wizard could be a big help. You can plug in your child’s approximate reading level, as well as the genres that they enjoy reading, and it will display leveled books appropriate for your child. As soon as children find a series or genre that they like, it is like eating potato chips – one won’t be enough!
Have fun “falling” into reading!
