Safety and Covid Mitigation Protocols/Procedures
In light of the current level of Covid infection rates in our school and/or community, these are some considerations for Taylor Road Middle School. This list is not exhaustive, and it is certainly subject to change as the situation evolves:
- Arrival and dismissal procedures remain the same.
- School schedule/class times remain the same with students accessing instruction and assignments via Teams during remote learning days.
- Visitors to the building are limited.
- All students and staff – masks are optional. EXCEPTIONS: Those who are directed to wear masks as directed due to COVID exposures.
- Breakfasts will be grab and go. Lunches will all be eaten in the cafeteria utilizing as much distancing as possible.
- Clubs and intramurals will continue this week.
- 6th and 7th grades are assigning lockers around February 1st.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Mr. Parker.
Shout Outs from Parents & Students
Way to go! You are making a difference to our families!
Parents: Please take a minute to share a shout out with our staff members.
Ms. Price: Mrs Price is new to Taylor Road. The first time I met her, I can feel her passion for teaching. My son is also new this year. He was nervous at the beginning and had a difficult time adjusting. Mrs Price had years of teaching experience and with her continuous support, my son is starting to relax and beginning to enjoy school. Thank you Mrs Price!
Mr. Vener: Mr Vener is a very gentle and caring teacher. He knows his students very well and make sure they have the right amount of support. I love how he sees the good in every kid. Thank you Mr Vener!
Ms. Mobley: We just wanted to say thank you for getting to know our sweet daughter! She has been so blessed, as we have, for having you this year. She comes home and tells us about you daily! You are a blessing and we know it can be stressful but please know how appreciative we are of EVERYTHING that YOU do for her! Again, thank you, thank you for being her cheerleader! That connection that you have made with her has made a huge difference as well, not just her bat mitzvah. IT is all about connecting with students and you have done that with our daughter!
Ms. Mobley, Ms. Burger, Ms. D-McLetchie, Mr. MacIlvain, Mr. Murphy, Ms. Britton, & Ms. Sabbag: Thank you to each one of you for your help this year with our sweet daughter! We are very blessed to have each of you in her life! You are helping to mold her into who she is! Thank you again for all that you do!

Device Update
Did you know that if your student has previously waived having a Fulton County device and is using a personal device, you can always change your mind and request one for your child?
Please contact Peggy Callander (callander@fultonschools.org) at any time if you need to have a Fulton County laptop issued for your student.
Backpacks of Love
At TRMS we have a program called “backpacks of love”. The purpose of this program is to provide assistance by donating non-perishable items to our families. The participants’ names are known only to the counselors and social worker. Once every two weeks a backpack with food items are available to go home. A student can carry the backpack home, or the parent can pick it up at the front office. All we need to know is if you would like to participate, how many adults are in the house, how many children are in the house, and if there are any dietary allergies such as peanut butter. We can only provide for a certain number of families so the sooner you reply the better. We will respond regardless of whether you are in the program or if supplies run out.

Covid Reporting - Reminder
FCS continues to ask parents to report when their student has been tested. Please refer to the following guidance for reporting:
- Use portals to report pending tests, positive test results, and direct exposures outside of FCS.
- If you are awaiting test results, have a negative test, and/or are asymptomatic, your student may continue to report to school with a mask.
- If you are symptomatic or have a positive test, you are not to report to school.
Parents must use the Parent Reporting Portal to make a COVID-19 report. FCS will only send notifications for direct contact exposures at FCS facilities
