Affect on Public Health

The water pollution is beyond from being saved or almost impossible to stop water pollution.People who are consuming water with nitrates, the nitrates has a impact your breathing ad when the infants are drinking these waters the infant could have trouble getting oxygen. These water are highly contaminated which could affect the general welfare of the infant. Also it affects animal by having to much plants in the water, it can create a big growth of plants and algae which can make a lot of undissolved oxygen. The less the animals have the more and more animals are quickly dying. A man name Bill Stowe who is a general manger at Des Moines Water works told Iowa Public Radio in a interview that high nitrates are causing plants to be grown in the waters which makes the animals in the water less oxygen. This can make the water look so disgusting that people wouldn't want to go near the water.

Prevention

There are many ways that people can prevent from being polluted and causing global warming. People can conserve water by turning off the tap when running water is not necessary. This helps prevent water shortages and reduces the amount of contaminated water that needs treatment. Also people can be careful about what you throw down your sink or toilet. Don’t throw paints, oils or other forms of litter down the drain. These toxic chemicals can down to the water where animals can drink or breathe the water. People can environmental items that are safe to the water and the earth. You can prevent from littering because when its windy or raining the litter can find its way to the water. We need to keep excess sediment, nutrients, bacteria and other pollutants out of our water. Because the largest problems come from agricultural areas, an important solution is using conservation practices. Common conservation practices include wetlands, ponds, terraces and buffers. These practices reduce the amount of pollutants reaching a lake or stream.

Agricultural Problems

Farmers are probably wondering farming wont cause any problems to the water but actually farmers are causing a lot of harm to the water. Agricultural water can become contaminated through a variety of ways and can potentially spread bacteria, viruses, and parasites to crops and animals. These diseases can cause somethings through extinction or toxic. Agricultural activities that cause non-point source pollution include, Poorly managed animal operations,Overgrazing,Overworking the land, and Poorly managed and ineffective application of pesticides, irrigation water, and fertilizer.Polluted runoff is created by rainfall or snow melt moving over and through the ground. As the runoff moves, it picks up and carries away natural and human-made pollutants, finally depositing them into watersheds via lakes, rivers, wetlands, coastal waters, and even our underground sources of drinking water.
