Spotlight on 2020's Valedictorian

Alex Malanoski, Class of 2020 Valedictorian, former GTV anchor, and Eagles Media Center staff member, is now a member of the Syracuse University freshman class. He is studying Broadcast and Digital Journalism and is learning so much already.

"I have done some of my first networking by talking to a girl who just graduated from Syracuse and is working as a producer at a local news station there. She asked if I wanted to be interviewed for a story! She had me give her my roommate's contact info as well and then bam."

Check out Alex's interview on the link below.

Alex is also sharing his photography skills with the Syracuse community.

"My first photos taken as part of the Daily Orange photography department are going to be published along with an article written by someone else. I had to take portraits last night of a girl who self-directed a virtual play this summer!"

He is currently in training to use the cameras for the University's television station. Alex has been assigned a mentor at CitrusTV. "I’m hoping to start doing some reporting soon."

He is also shadowing for the shows in the News and Entertainment departments at CitrusTV, “NOW, Live @ 6, Talking Points, Juice and Java, and Unpeeled.” We look forward to seeing Alex on the air again very soon!
