PLEF: Tablets distributed? Teachers: Check!
PLEF: Techies trained? Teachers: Check!
PLEF: Ready to upload to Playlist Builder? Teachers: Ummm, what is the URL?
PLEF: Canvas ready? Teachers: Uh oh!
We've hit several major milestones this year but there are a few more bumps in the road to have a successful mission. As mentioned last week, we will work on the basics of how to properly integrate the tablet into your Personalized Learning Environment (PLE). With that comes a multitude of coach-able moments and the discovery of hidden tablet gems. You'll find a the lesson of the week below along with links to register for them.
I will also be in classrooms observing and offering suggestions to focus teachers and any special requests. As we move through the year you'll find me in the content classrooms GCS has chosen to focus on: Math 6, ELA 7, Science 8 and Math I. I will work with these teachers to ensure you are properly integrating technology into instructional to meet students where they are it falls in line with the Instructional Framework.

Student Canvas (NCEd Cloud) Passwords
Here is a video tutorial for how to change passwords: https://docs.ncedcloud.org/doku.php?id=enduser:teacherintro
Please keep this link handy. I suggest adding it to your Outlook contacts. In terms of the tablet, students need to know their password in order to gain access to the Canvas retraining course.
Please see your data manager should you have questions about teacher access to NCEdCloud.
Fixing the Tablet? There's an App for That!
Here are a few tips and tricks to help you quickly troubleshoot tablet issues:
- Sign-in errors are common. Students and teachers typically have these errors when something on the tablet isn't working correctly. The only thing users need to do is input their tablet password. Student pw: birthdate (mmddyyyy)/Teacher pw: first 3 of last name+last 4 of SSN.
- Visit and bookmark THIS document for a quick list of common issues and how to solve them. Please contact me or our CTCs should you have additional questions.
- Remember to work the steps on the TROUBLESHOOTING POSTER before contacting your media spec, CTC or PLEF.
