Updates for the Week of Jan 23-27
Hello First Graders & Families!
Progress reports will go home this week on Wednesday.
We are SO proud of our students and their hard work during the 2nd quarter of school! We are finishing up our MOY (Middle of Year) assessments and we will be scheduling conferences in the coming weeks. Please let us know if you have multiple children with conferences and we will try to schedule those on the same day. I look forward to meeting with you and sharing the progress your child is making.

Updates for the Week of January 16-20
Hello First Graders & Families!
Last week we completed our MOY (middle of year) assessments in Math. We are very pleased with the progress our students are making! This week, we will begin our MOY assessments in Reading! We will be working on these throughout the month of January. We will begin scheduling conferences as soon as all assessments are completed. Our plan is to host all conferences during the month of February. We look forward to meeting with you soon to discuss your child's progress so far this year!
A Few Reminders:
*Don't forget to continue with Letterland homework and reading each night! It is a great way to help your child to grow their literacy skills at home!
*NO SCHOOL Monday (1/16)! We hope you enjoy a long weekend!

It's getting chilly out there!
Temperatures are cool in the mornings, so don't forget to send a warm jacket each day. Our recess time is at 10:45, and it can still be fairly cold when we go outside.

Home Work Help
Each night, Monday through Thursday, we will have opportunities for you to work with your child on literacy, writing and spelling! These routines should take between 10-20 minutes each night. The nightly recommendations are listed below:
*Read your baggie book.
*Read your spelling words to your parent 2X.
Tuesday Night
*Read your baggie book.
*Write your spelling words 3X each.
Wednesday Night
*Read your baggie book.
*Write 5 sentences. Use a spelling word in each sentence.
Thursday Night
*Read your baggie book.
*Take a practice spelling test. (Tricky words, list words, and 2 sentences)
Friday Night
*Check your folder!
*Have a great weekend!
