Intro
Our newsletter will be sent out every other Friday.
6th grades next newsletter will be sent out on October 28th.
6th Grade Announcements
Students should be sending you an email every Monday through a Google Doc. In FPC, students are checking their grades and creating goals for the week and are required to share it with you. If you could please follow up with them at home on their goals as we will be checking in with them at school as well.
If you cannot access your student’s Live School account, please reach out to Mrs. Sullinger and she can give you the access code needed to log in. This is a great way to check on your student’s behavior in classes, tardies, and another way to monitor missing assignments/homework.
The last day of the quarter is October 21st. Make sure students are turning in all missing work
1st Quarter PACE is over, but you can begin signing up for 2nd Quarter PACE. PACE will start again for 2nd Quarter on Tuesday, November 1st. Sign up here: https://forms.gle/85LirptLfX6NmjqK8

Science
Mrs. Sullinger
We have now gone through a full unit in Science. We just took a quiz over Systems and Weathering & Soil. Retakes are due by Tuesday, October 25th at 2:50 pm.
The retake process:
Students need to grab and return the Intent to Retake form from Mrs. Sullinger
Students need to complete all missing work and the corrections document that can be found in Google Classroom.
Students then share the retake document with me
I will look it over and check to make sure they have the correct answers
I will then assign the retake and students will then study and retake the quiz either in class, FPC, or during Academic Lab.
Students have 2 weeks to complete the retakes and are only allowed to take this one time. Please have the conversation with your student if they are planning on retaking, that they need to take time and study before their retake. I had several students who retook the Metric Quiz and scored lower because they thought that if they just retook, they would perform better. We had a long discussion about how we need to study and ask questions on misconceptions before retaking. I also want to add that the retakes are not the same test, so memorizing answers will not help students prepare.
The last day to submit missing assignments is October 21st.

MRS. MADILL
This week the students were busy performing and/or completing their USA History projects. Some completed comic strips, drawings, while others performed plays and rap songs. Students worked hard the last few weeks on getting 100% on their USA 50 States Map quiz. Now, we are preparing for the unit test over the USA on Thursday, Oct.20th. Students can study by clicking HERE . You can also find the link to the Quizlet test review in Google Classroom. Some students prefer paper flashcards so I have downloaded a set of flashcards and posted them in the Google Classroom Stream for you to print off at home.
If you child scores a 70% or lower on their Unit 2 USA Test, they may retake if they do the following:
Fill out retake form and have it signed and turn in to Mrs. Madill
Turn in all missing assignments from the USA unit.
Complete the US Study Guide worksheets that will be attached to the retake form.
Turn study guide worksheets in to Mrs. Madill and I will grade it.
