Writing
We started our informational teaching books. Stopping midway through our workshop and sharing our books is one way to make sure we are teaching our readers about our topic.
Reading
Looking for informational text features helps us understand the main idea and detail of what we are reading. We did a scavenger hunt looking for text features and shared them with our partner.
Buddies
We gave everyone a triangle to decorate and we told them we would put them all together to make a tree. (They did not believe us)
Buddy Tree
See...We started with a plain green triangle, but put together, we created a beautiful tree that is in the hallway.
Math
Sage and Scribe is a cooperative learning structure where one person says exactly how to solve the problem and the scribe writes everything down. Then they switch places. It makes doing a worksheet much more exciting!
Team building
One student from each table was asked to go in the hallway. Each table had to pick an item in the room that the other child had to find but the only way to communicate where it was, was by clapping. As the student moved around the room, the closer they got to the object, the faster they were suppose to clap! It was like we were applauding for a performance in here!
Top Dog -Oliver
Oliver's favorite animals are dinosaurs. He loves to eat cheese pizza. He is pawsome at Karate and puzzles. When he grows up he would like to be a paleontologist.
Doggy Bag
1.We are in need of a few more items for our service project. We will be making dog toys for the Naperville Humane Society. We need empty water bottles, new white gym socks, and fabric markers. Thanks for your help.
2. We also need cotton balls for a few projects that we have planned for December. Any amount will help!
