Chromebook Collection

Students in grades 9th-11th will hold onto their Chromebook, charger, and case during summer break unless they are in need of a repair or are leaving the district. We ask that over summer break that students store their device in a secure location away from extreme heat/cold and liquids. It is also recommended to keep the Chromebook device in a safe location. Please note that no tech support will be available during the summer break and charges will be issued for any missing/damaged items at the beginning of next school year. Anyone leaving the district should bring their Chromebook, case, and charger to the FHS Tech Depot in the LMC before the last day (June 10th). Anything not returned or damaged will be charged to the student account.


Possible repairs include:

  • Cracked Screen

  • Display (wavy lines, black/white screen)

  • Keyboard (missing keys, not responding)

  • Trackpad (not functioning, broken)

  • Camera (not working/responding)

  • Microphone (not working/responding)

  • Chromebook Battery Issue

  • Chromebook Charger Issue

  • Missing/loose screws on the bottom of the device

2022-23 FHS Course List/Future Scheduling Info

All families of students currently in grades 8-11 should have received their list of scheduled classes for the 2022-23 school year via email toward the end of last week. As indicated in the letter accompanying the course list, changes should be minimal due to thoughtful course selections back in winter; however, if there is a change that needs to be requested, students must submit the completed bright pink course change request form (available in Student Services), due back to Student Services by 3 p.m. on Fri., June 3. Any change is based on space availability, academic/career plans, and schedule options and cannot be guaranteed, but FHS counselors will try their best to accommodate requests and to let students know the outcome via school email by summer break. Change requests will NOT be accepted after June 3, including during the summer or at the start of school in fall. Students do not need an appointment to request a change, as they just need to submit the form, and changes will not be made without the completed form. We anticipate that detailed student schedules, including rooms, hours, teachers, etc. will be available to access on PowerSchool in mid- to late-August once again this year.

Summer Homework for Honors and AP Courses

This week, students in grades 8-11 should check the link in the email accompanying their list of future scheduled courses for information on any summer homework for AP or honors courses. The summer homework document is also linked on the FHS School Counselors website, so it can be accessed online at any time.

FHS Athletes - Develop Your SPARQ!

Speed, Quickness, Agility, Reaction, and Quickness. Ted Lang, a renowned speed, strength, and conditioning coach with MLB, NFL, and NCAA experience, will be hosting a SPARQ camp at FHS on June 13-16 from 1 pm - 2:30 pm. All athletes are invited and encouraged to attend. See this document for details and waiver!

Class of 2022 Graduation Information

Reminders for Seniors Before June 10th:

  • Return any classroom materials (textbook, PE lock, etc)
  • Be sure to clean out your locker
  • Return your Chromebook to the library anytime this week. Chromebooks must be turned in by June 9th or your account will be charged
  • Outstanding fees and detentions need to be completed to participate in the graduation ceremony

2022 Commencement

Graduation for the Class of 2022 will be held at the American Family Field on Saturday, June 11th at 4:00 PM.


Please review these notes regarding the graduation ceremony (expectations, where to park, arrival time, etc).

Graduation Ceremony - Live Streamed!

Graduation is taking place this Saturday at American Family Field at 4pm. If you are not able to attend the event or know people who want to watch the event, it will be live-streamed at this link here. Be sure to check the Graduation page on our website here for all details about the event. After the event, we will also link out to photos and any grad walk photos that are taken this week at the elementary buildings. Congratulations to our graduates!

Cap & Gown Orders

Any seniors who have not picked up their cap and gown orders can stop by the office to pick them up. If you forgot to place your order with Jostens, we also have items for sale.

Flowers for Commencement

The Commencement Group offers pre-sales of flowers for graduates. All online orders will be available for pickup on site the day of the graduation. To retrieve your order, stop at the booth located conveniently in the parking lot near the entrance to the graduation before the ceremony begins. Use this link to take a look at their selection.

Franklin Family Woods Run Sat, June 25th

How FUN is this? Free Franklin Family Fun Run on Saturday, June 25th. 5K, 1 mile and family run to kickoff the morning, beginning at Kayla's Park at 9 am. Register today and your name will be placed into a drawing for free Milkmen tickets! All monetary donations will go to support the Franklin Educational Foundation.


Franklin Educational Foundation Hosts "Back-To-School" Milkmen Celebration

August 21st at 1pm is our "Back to School Celebration" for Franklin Public Schools at the Milwaukee Milkmen Game and we are inviting all students, teachers, families and community members to help us celebrate! The Franklin Educational Foundation will be the featured non-profit organization for this Sunday afternoon game. A portion of this game’s ticket sales, and other in-game fundraisers, will help fund the Foundation's student emergency fund, graduating senior scholarships, educator awards, and classroom grants.


The Foundation will announce the seven winners of the 2022 "Excellent Teacher Awards"on the big screen at the game (nominate your FAVORITE teacher here before June 30th!). So get a group together and let's celebrate our FPS's great teachers by enjoying a fun Sunday afternoon at the ballpark.

Food Service Updates For Summer & 2022-23

PLANNING FOR SCHOOL LUNCHES 2022-23

As we get closer to the end of the 2021-22 school year, we want to update families on what school lunch will look like for the 2022-23 school year. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that has been allowing students to receive free meals will no longer be offering this service for free next school year.


At the start of the 2022-23 school year, school lunches will no longer be free. Prices will remain the same as they were set for the 2020-21 school year.


We highly encourage families to continue to participate in the convenient, nutritious, and cost-friendly school meals.


FREE & REDUCED PRICE MEALS FOR 2022-23

We encourage families to complete the free and reduced lunch application. The application can be completed online after August 1st, 2022. To find the application, we will have a link on our website here.

National Child Identification Kits

From Department of Instruction: We are excited to let you know that Alliant Energy, the Green Bay Packers, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Public Instruction have teamed up to provide every learner in Wisconsin with a National Child Identification Kit. The kit is a gift of safety that is hopefully never needed. But in the event of a missing child, the kit helps to provide law enforcement with vital information. The kits are confidential and are designed to be completed and stored securely at a private residence. The information is only turned over to law enforcement in the event of an emergency.


These kits are being distributed this week at the elementary school so your child should be bringing them home on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week. The kits are available for pickup in the main office at Forest Park Middle School and Franklin High School if you would like to pick one up or ask your child to pick one up. The kits will also be made available at the FPMS and FHS open houses as school starts back up in the fall and at parent-teacher conferences. This is one extra piece of information you can have at the ready in the event it is needed for a family emergency.

Franklin Little League

Franklin Little League is hosting the MLB Pitch Hit & Run on June 18 @ 12:30pm - All boys and girls ages 7-14 across the community are welcome to participate in this free event. Sign up here to participate, online registration is required.


Franklin Little League is also excited to announce that it is hosting the Jr Home Run Derby June 8th & 9th- All boys and girls ages 12-16 (this is not FLL specific) are welcome to participate in this free event. The baseball event will be on June 8th from 7-8pm and Softball will be June 9th from 7-8pm. Sign up here to participate, online registration is required.

Summer E-Book Reading Options

Wanting to read more this summer? Check out some eBooks from your school library - there are hundreds to choose from! We have many ebooks including readalongs, picture books, chapter books and non-fiction. Magazines and a collection of always available graphic novels were added recently. SORA also has a collection of Sweet Reads for summer that will be always available through August 17th. SORA can be accessed from any internet connected device.

Student and Family Assistance Program Launched

As we communicated with all families last Monday, Franklin Public Schools has entered a partnership with Advocate Aurora Health Care to provide counseling options for students and families on a variety of topics. The well-being of our students and families is paramount in helping us to be a better community. The Student and Family Assistance Program (SFAP) is operating now and is available to all students and members of their households within our district AT NO COST and offers up to (4) free one-hour sessions with a licensed counselor per issue on a variety of topics related to mental health. COVID-19 Updates

  • CASES: We continue to ask families to please be diligent in keeping your children home when they are experiencing symptoms or are sick. Please continue to report any symptoms or sickness through the online absence reporting form process.

  • TESTING FOR AT SCHOOL STUDENTS & STAFF ONLY: Students and their family members who are at home and need access to testing are recommended to visit a community testing site. For more information, please visit the Summit Clinical Labs website or the DHS Community Testing page here. Students or staff who are present at school and in need of access to testing can be tested in their building through the ongoing partnership between FPS and Summit Clinical Labs.   • As shared in this update from the March 11th Newsletter, we will resume publishing dashboard updates if the Milwaukee County rating moves to high.
