Glazier Staff Bulletin
December 13-17
Ending the year with continued connections
My dear Glazier Staff,
You have a few more days before Winter Break and I’m sure you’re looking forward to it. I’m reflecting on our first few months of this school year and am thankful for each of you: You’ve navigated COVID-19 protocols, social distancing, lunch schedules/seating adjustments, never-before-in-school first graders, returning students who were distant for quite some time, concerned families, contact tracing prep, and so much more. Through it all, you rallied, celebrated, welcomed, encouraged, shared, learned, and led amongst students and each other in new ways. I urge you to take a moment to process your many accomplishments and achievements–you should be very, very proud! I know I certainly am thankful for your work that has the collective results of connections and successes across our campus.
I’m hopeful that the new year--2022-- will bring us calmness and relief from the pandemic. Thank you for your commitment to doing the good work for our students as we continue as a beacon of equity of access now and in their futures. Savor each day of the break--take one day at a time, count your blessings, and let your heart be filled with love and joy.
Have a fabulous and festive week!
Susan
Digital Citizenship and Online Safety -
Schools will be holding “Digital Citizenship and Online safety Week” in January. Here is the slide deck from the presentation recently shared in our Principal meeting: Our goal is to engage in digital literacy/safety lessons schoolwide the week of January 10-14. Time in the January 3rd PD is available to assist in overviews of the prepared lessons. Thanks in advance for marking your calendars and guiding your students in this important work!
Thursday 1/13: iPad swap day for grades 3-5: Students in grades 3-5 are receiving upgraded iPads with keyboards. This will assist with successful SBAC testing in each classroom during the Spring administration. More information will be sent to the 3-5 teams: Please "save the date"/mark your calendars.

Scholastic Book Fair Success!

There are lots of great resources for staff and families at
EASE, and Parent/Family supports
Dr. Gotto sent out a reminder of the EASE Program that provides free, confidential support for NLMUSD Staff. Additionally, the NLMUSD Mental Health and Wellness team will be offering a series of virtual parent workshops around grief and loss to provide our community with some tools to help them during the holiday season.
