SBAC Round 2 Begins this Week!

Attention Cavaliers! The time has come for our students to show off what they know after many months of hard work in Math classes! This week begins the second (and final!) round of SBAC testing. All students will be taking the math portion of the SBAC exam between now and May 1st.

I want to take the time to thank Mr. Josafat, Mr. Nava, Mr. Wilson, and Mr. Fernandez for the amazing job they have been doing coordinating and assisting with troubleshooting the SBAC test. I want to thank our ELA teachers for their patience and support as they administered the ELA SBAC test to all of our students. I also thank those teachers who helped cover classes last week. Your assistance helped keep our students focussed on their assessments.

Finally, I want to congratulate our students. Most of our students had no problem logging onto the SBAC site and took the time to do their best on their English test. We wish them the best on their Math Assessment.

SCHOLAR RESPONSIBILITY!

Here's to a great week. I wanted to share with you a video that is mainly for our scholars. In a time when it feels as if the only person to blame for the lack of scholar success is the school and everyone within it, President Obama has made sure our scholars know that they play a role in their own success. I hope you decide to share this with your scholars. I pushed out the following message to all of our students last Wednesday:

Dear Cavaliers,

Today you received your last progress report for this year. With less than six weeks left in school, I wanted to let you know that is important that you take time to reflect on your progress and think about the goals that you have set for yourself. I believe that learning is a life-long process that allows each person to grow in their own way. Embrace learning and finish the semester STRONG.

For those of you who are doing well, congratulations. If you are not passing some of your classes, you have time to grow. Do not give up!!!! Believe that you can do this!!!!

We Believe In You!!!!

Julissa Gracias

Your Principal

Let us continue to motivate our students to give their best these last couple of weeks.

Have a great week everyone!
