The New Hampshire Colony
By: Eli Baker
Year Founded and Founder and Reason Founded
This colony was founded by John Wheelwright and John Mason in 1638 for fishing and agricultural purposes.
The New Hampshire colony had a few economic resources, like fish and ship-building. Also, they must have had lumber, because wood is needed to make ships. Some kinds of fish that they fished for were the striped bass and bluefish.
Climate and Geography
The climate of this colony was cold in the long winters, which gave way to moderately warm in it's short summers. This was partially due to it's location, which was in the northeast sector of the U.S. It had rocky soil which made it hostile soil for growing crops. There was also evergreen forests because of the long winters.
