Mrs. Johnson's and Mrs. Lawlor's Kindergarten Class

We are learning...

Reading and Language Arts: We read the book The Love Monster by Rachel Bright. We talked about describing words. We also practiced identifying opposites. We are reading in our small groups daily. Small group reading is where we practice and develop our reading skills! Our favorite song this week was Vowel Bat (see the link below!)

Math: We made some fun graphs this week. Our favorite was definitely the candy heart graph! YUM! We also practiced adding and subtracting. One of our favorite games this week was Balloon Pop (see the link below!)

Social Studies/Science: We are focusing on American symbols in preparation for our program and President's Day. We are learning about presidents of the United States- Washington, Lincoln, and President Obama. We wrote about: "If I were President"- I'm pretty sure there are some future leaders in our class! We also went to the computer lab and did some independent research about American symbols using PebbleGo. We are learning about "key words."
