2023 BOND INFORMATION
Did you know you can vote on April 29 at your County Clerk’s Office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.? On April 29, the county clerk's offices must be open for at least eight hours to issue and receive absentee voter ballots. Or make sure you vote on Tuesday, May 2! Learn more at wbsd.org/bond

WB Youth Assistance Awards Ceremony
The 27th West Bloomfield Youth Recognition Awards Ceremony is scheduled to be hosted by West Bloomfield Youth Assistance at 6 p.m. on May 10 at West Bloomfield Middle School. Youth will be recognized for volunteer services, concern for the well-being of others, personal self-growth, and developing leadership skills.

WBMS Student Interviews Jamie Stottlemyer
Max interviewed Jamie Stottlemyer, COD, CFD, CTD Assistant Superintendent of Facilities & Operations at WBSD. He discussed his hopes for the bond, project management, his career in construction before operations in schools, and so much more.

Oakland Early College Offers College-Level Courses
Oakland Early College Head of School, Morrison Borders discussed the countywide program that provides access to college-level courses and vocational training opportunities for high school students, translating to a mass of college credits and career certifications before graduating from high school!

Excellence in Transportation 2023 Awards Banquet
Congratulations to WBSD award winners Charnella Brown-Miller and Nikki Melville. You're the first one to greet our students with a smile. Thank you to the entire transportation department for ALL that you do to keep our school community safe.
Roosevelt Huskies Designers
Congratulations to our Michigan Design Prize winners! They will get to meet with their mentors from the Michigan Design Council and will be celebrated at the awards ceremony on June 7 at the Center for Creative Studies. Way to goooooo Roosevelt Huskies!
April Star Certificate
Congratulations to the terrific trio Jedidiah Jones, Jennifer Kozicki, and Samantha Davis! The WBSD Board of Education recognized them with Star Certificates for the fantastic work they do in the special education classes and programs at WBHS. Kudos for organizing the Unified Basketball Teams at Little Caesars Arena and for spearheading the Polar Plunge to raise funds for the cause.

April Superintendent's Excellence Award
Dr. Bazzi and the Board of Education recognized Jennifer Nikiforov, 5th-grade student at Sheiko Elementary School with the Superintendent's Excellence Award for the month of April.
Jennifer is an outstanding student who is being recognized for her exceptional work ethic and commitment to learning. She is a hardworking and dedicated student who applies herself fully to all learning tasks. Jennifer recently demonstrated her spelling prowess by winning the Sheiko School Spelling Bee, which is a testament to her strong determination and preparation skills.
IT'S SHOWTIME! TONIGHT & TOMORROW
Urinetown is a hilarious comedic romp with a heartfelt social justice message on April 28, & 29 at 7 p.m. at WBHS. Tickets are $15 ($5 for any WBSD student) and are on sale now at https://wbhstheatrearts.ludus.com. Tickets will also be on sale at the WBHS box office prior to each performance. There are close to 80 students involved in the production in the pit orchestra, stage crew, and costume crew. We hope to see you at the performance!

Coming Soon - A CNC Plasma Cutter
WBSD Board of Education members approved a CNC Plasma Cutter for the Engineering and Robotics program at WBHS. This piece of equipment will assist the robotics team CAD design pieces and cut them to improve building the robot. The equipment will also be used in higher engineering classes to give students real-world experience.
